Christina & Ciaran – September 2010.

Claire and Rick

Our Wedding in Dubrovnik was an absolute fairytale. Everything down to the finest detail was taken care of by Steve at Weddings in Dubrovnik, who we cannot recommend highly enough.

From the early stages of looking online to choose the right wedding planner, we knew Steve was the man for the job. He was so professional and helpful and was open to all of our ideas that we had floating around in our heads. He was completely the opposite of other planners I had found quite pushy.

The whole planning process with Steve was relaxed and enjoyable, the way it should be! When we reached Dubrovnik he gave us a guided tour of the old city and was always just five minutes away if we needed anything. From when we arrived, Steve was also like a host to our family members and they consider him such a huge part of our wedding.

We had our ceremony in the Church of St Ignatius, then on to a drinks reception/cruise on the Tirena galleon ship, and finally had the dinner reception at the Excelsior Hotel.

Our church ceremony was just idyllic. Steve had organised that our personal friend who is a priest in Ireland, celebrated the mass. We had a string quartet play some of the more traditional church music and then had the most wonderful singer Ines to perform our more personalised choice of songs including 'Come What May' and You've got the love. It was really unique, anything we requested was organised by Steve.

Steve's wonderful hostesses took care of our 115 guests and ushered them down to the harbour for the boat trip, which was, for all the guests, the highlight of the wedding. It was actually surreal for us. We kind of went into a trance for the 2 hour cruise! The weather was just perfect too. We had prosecco and canapés served and stopped the boat in the middle of the sea to do the speeches. It was so relaxed and informal, and so different. Steve was there in the background for the whole thing, ensuring everything was perfect.

Again, our guests were co-ordinated by Steve's friendly hostesses to arrive at the dinner reception at the Excelsior Hotel. The Palm Terrace venue was just outstanding. The view of the old city was breathtaking and the food was superb. The wine recommended by Steve was top class. Our guests are still talking about how good it was. He sourced it through a wholesale contact, which was a huge saving for us. The live band 'Teatar' was so fantastic that people were actually dancing between courses of the dinner! At midnight, we moved inside where the dancing continued into the early hours. As a venue, I cannot recommend the Palm Terrace enough. Steve had helped us choose table decorations which put the finishing touches to what was just perfect.

The photographer on the day, Ines Banks, was just amazing. She was so un-intrusive throughout the whole day. We didn't even realise some of the great shots were being taken as the bridesmaids, my mother and myself were getting ready in the villa that morning. She stayed right through the dinner reception and took some great shots of our guests dancing the night away.

Our legal paperwork was no hassle at all, despite the horror stories we had heard. Steve talked us through every bit of it and there was no hitch.

Thank you Steve for making our wedding day so special, it was a dream above and beyond what we ever imagined. The planning process was so exciting, relaxed and enjoyable thanks to your lovely and natural professional manner.

We hope to see you soon in sunny Dubrovnik!
