Niamh & Steve – June 2010.

Robert & OrlaWeddings in Dubrovnik (Steve Enstone & his team) were one of many wedding planners we had to choose from for our special day. We felt very comfortable from the beginning with Steve, due to his quick response to our initial enquiry and his assurance that he was very familiar with the Croatian legal/registration system. He spoke candidly about his contacts and resources that would help him make the day go without any hitches.

From the early stages of dealing with W.I.D we found their professionalism and attention to detail to be at the forefront of every task. Steve clearly explained what was involved in organising everything and planted some seeds for us to think about. After our early discussions Steve put his proposal forward and this was the basis of our future correspondence. As the day came closer, Steve regularly contacted us by e-mail and phone to ensure we were keeping to the plan, essentially obtaining a freedom to marry certificate. Details such as flowers, cars, menu & band were all taken care of and agreed before we arrived a few days before the wedding on 10th June.

On arrival, Steve arranged to meet us at the hotel we were getting married in. We immediately met the hotel manager Boris and ran through menus, drinks etc. Some final decisions had to be made which Steve ensured Boris was clear on. We really felt Steve was 'batting' for us when he pointed out how things must happen and it is not a request but an instruction. Several other meetings took place to finalise everything with the photographers, registrar, and band. Once again he ensured we were happy with the meetings and summarised what had been agreed. Although a lot had been done before our trip it just goes to show how much detail there is in organising the 'big day'.

The day itself was great, everything we had ever dreamt of. With most of our 70 guests travelling from the UK & Ireland we felt that we had to put a show on that they deserved. Other than it being our special day, so many people told us how they were so glad to have come to Dubrovnik and witness what was such a fantastic day. The look on everyone's faces as the boat came into berth at the beach of the Hotel Bellevue was unforgettable. The band playing in the background, everyone chatting having some drinks and then we ate what was (not just our opinion) one of the best meals at a wedding we had ever had. We partied into the early hours and like any self respecting newlyweds, we were the last to leave!

We received our wedding certificates about 4 weeks after the wedding day and they were legally court stamped in Dubrovnik. Steve had also arranged for them to have been officially translated into English for us.

We saved hard to get everything we wanted and Weddings in Dubrovnik made it worth every single penny. I know one day we will go back and retrace our memories, but the fabulous photo's will have to do for now.
